Prostate Cancer & Beyond
I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2008 and following problems with erectile disfunction fitted with an AMS LGX700 Penile Implant in July 2013. Loads has happened and is going to happen to me and if by doing this I can help another person, partner or family who is going through a similar thing, that's cool. Have a good read from the start, check the archives and any questions, please just ask.

Hi all
Firstly l would like to apologise for not updating my blog for so long. I want to thank you for keeping reading and l hope that it is still giving you the information that you need to make your decisions and the hope that things are not always as bleak as you might think.
I was widowed back in 2018 to you guessed it - Cancer. I bloody hate that disease.
As you might imagine it has been a difficult few years and l still have good and bad days. I do hope to continue with the blog and think it might help me in an odd sort of way.
As you all know l have had my implant for quite a few years and have never had any trouble.
I will sign off now but as always if you have anything at all you want to ask please just message me.

Thanks .....
I have had my implant for over 4 years now (all looking good and still working very well thank you) and any of you that have read my ramblings from the start will know the journey and seen the pictures - some of them filling your screen, sorry I never did get round to resizing some of the photos!
I have said so many times why I began writing this and have to say that most of you now know me and my thoughts better than anyone else.
Thanks everyone for all your kind comments, messages and questions I am so pleased that my writing about my experiences is helping.
Till next time.
Dave

Temperature Changes
I have said previously that since my prostate surgery and subsequent implant surgery the skin and tissue of my scrotum and shaft are far more sensitive to any changes in temperature (warm and cold) and that is still the case even after 3 years.
The other thing and I appreciate this could just be me!! On cold days I have always shrunk back - I assume in an attempt for my penis to keep itself warmer. Since the implant I still get that tight feeling but my deflated shaft now becomes much firmer just without the reduction in size.
I have also noticed that along with my own body the implant especially the tubes and bulb behave differently and can when I am cooler be slightly harder to inflate. In my case this means that to some extent the final size of my initial erection is less. Eventually, I assume because the saline going into the shaft is at body temperature the tissue becomes more subtle and I can inflate further to my normal size making inflation a two stage process.
None of it is a problem but if your implant is newer than mine and it is something you may have happening to you there is in my experience nothing to be concerned about, it is just a case of getting warm and/or adapting.
All the best
Dave
